Planning and Zoning Commission

The Planning and Zoning commission was created to make adequate provision for and to stimulate, guide, direct, arrange and beautify the city and teh future development and growth.

This commission has teh duty and authroity to prepare and submit to the board of alderman a master plan for the physical development of the city, including the general location, character and extent of streets, bridges, parks, waterways, and other public ways, grounds and spaces, together with the general location and arangement of public buildings and other public property, public utilities and the extent and location of any public housing projucts, and shall recommend such modifications of plans from time to time as it deems to be in teh city's interest.

The Planning and Zoning commission consist of six members selected by the board of alderman adn the mayor for a four year term. The membes shall be qualified by knowledge and experience to act on questions pertaining to the development and planning of the city.
