The Collector of the City of Bellefontaine Neighbors, formerly elected to office, is now appointed to that postion under provisions of recent legislation in Missouri. The City Collector has the responsibility for assisting in the collection of various taxes, licenses and fees. The most significant revenue source for general governmental functions is taxes. Tax revenues historically include a combination of four distinct resources: sales tax, property tax, utility franchise taxes, and cigarette tax.
