Street Department

The Street Department has services that are free to all Bellefontaine Neighbors residents. All services are on a first call, first serve basis. Call City Hall to be placed on the list at 314 867-0076.

Branch Pick-Up:  Branches will be picked up if they are stacked straight with no vines, roots, or logs in the stack.The cut end of the branch should face the street. Branches should be no longer than 10' long and and 4" wide. Logs should be placed in a separate pile, and should be no longer than 18" in length.

Tree Removal:  Trees in the easement (12 feet from the street) will be removed if more than 50% dead.

Tree Trim:  Trees to be trimed must, also, be located on the easment (12 feet from the street).

Sewer Lateral:  If you believe you have a lateral break, the lateral must be videotaped by a plumbing contractor. The videotape must be narrated, giving the name of the homeowner, date, address, and explain the problem with the lateral. The sewer line must be marked in the yard with either flags or paint. The homeowner will need to bring the tape to City Hall, along with a paid receipt of their Real Estate Tax bill from the previous year. The City will contract with the drain layer and arrange the repair and payment of the lateral.
